We have power!

So, we woke up this morning and…the power was back on. That scream of joy you heard, you didn’t know where it came from? That was me. I switched every light on even though it was light outside. I put the the kettle on. Three times.  I ran a scalding hot bath and while I was in there (burning up) I promised that I would never take power for granted again.

Tomorrow morning we’re leaving for the long weekend with the ‘rents. I plan to do absolutely nothing except read, eat and sleep.

When I get back I will do everything better, including blogging.

That is all.

  1. Hallo, hoe gaan dit! I heard a loud piercing scream, that was YOU? Granted, it had to be loud because I work in the basement of this fine establishment buried under tons of floors and units - but I heard you! LOUD AND CLEAR!

  7. Big YAY for power! I know what it’s like to go for a long time without it, and it makes you realize how spoiled we are this day and age…but I just CANNOT function without hot showers and a blowdryer! I’m doing some mental bootyshakes for you.

    That’s so true. Even something as simple as putting a light switch on and not having power frustrates me. Thanks for the bootyshakes, I’m right there shaking with ya! :)

    Hey TC. Not really no. The power situation is quite new so everyone is basically stocking up on generators.

  18. Yayyyyyyyyy!! Congrats on havin’ your power back!! I remember how losing it for a few days can drive you nuts!! We lost ours for 3 days last November, and we’re on well water, so the pump was off, too (no water–yikes!). Luckily, the river runs alongside the house, but dang, that water’s COLDDDDDDD! The Direct TV service was out for 3 weeks…that’s how long it took them to get someone out here to fix it. OMGosh! I barely survived it! So my heart goes out to you, girl!
