I won’t let it get to me.

I’m not going to let it get me down. I won’t.

I’m not going to let the fact that I had to get up extra early to go and bath at my parents house get me down, because we still don’t have power, and also that two of our fish died as a result. Tropical fish need heat = power and we don’t have any. Going on two days now, so that has to be some sort of record. I’m not going to let the fact that my sister was almost highjacked get me down, because she’s okay. I’m not going to let the fact that Sammy, our dog, has cancer because she isn’t in any pain and she had a long life with us, get me down. I’m not going to let all the other little things I haven’t even talked about get me down. These things shouldn’t control me. Imagine me, putting all of these things into an imaginary bag and then beating the crap out of it, then driving my car over it and throwing it all off a cliff. Take THAT!

I’m happy that today is Friday and Monday is a public holiday, and also next week Thursday and Friday. On top of that I’m putting in two days leave for Tuesday and Wednesday so I have a week off from work. I need time by myself, and I’m going to make use of these days to sort out my head.

My mother also just called me and unloaded all her problems and suspicions on me, like I can really handle all that now. I won’t let it get me down though.  It’s in that same bag, over the edge of the cliff. Other people have bigger problems than me, I have no reason to complain and have the little pity party that I seem to be having. No one ever comes to pity parties so where’s the fun in that?

Instead, I’ll focus on the good things. I have so many good things and I tend to be blinded to them when the shit hits the fan.

Three more days left of the challenge. I’m proud of myself, inspite of all the things that have happened I am going to finish it. :) ‘Household Items’ category.

like a book title says, put all your worries on great big box, then sit on the lid and laugh! may look like a loony, but it’s the only way. :)

Thank you Odette. :) That is awesome, I love that saying!! :)

  2. 2 days without power? Yikes. We had to go a couple of days during a blizzard/ ice storm a couple of years ago. That was no fun. We were so happy just to get to MacDonalds. I remember. Silly, huh?

I hope the power will come on soon so you can enjoy your week away from work.

Best of luck on the photo challenge too. You’d done exceptionally well, I think.

I hope the power goed back on too Ivy, and at least MacDonalds is open. lol Funny you ask because that’s what we had for breakfast. :) That must have been scary though, the storm I mean. It never gets that bad here.

  3. Woa… 2 days without power must be crazy. =S -hugs- Good luck with that. And everything else love. =( At least you’ve got a week off! Yay! =D

    That’s a resounding WHOO-HOO!! ;)

  5. Yeah, multiple days without power SUCKS. You have a positive attitude, though, which I think is awesome. Sometimes it’s okay to feel badly, but sometimes you just want to move on. I hope the power comes back on soon, and you get a lot of time to scrapbook next week when you’re off. YAY for days off!! *HUGS*

Yeah I know what you mean Blue, it’s like I just get fed up with being down and I tell myself to just ‘get over it’ you know? I’ve gotten so much done, I think more so what with the power off so maybe it’s a blessing in disguise?

    **HUGS**

  6. Being without power is the worst. We’re so spoiled in this century. ^_^

    *hugs**

    Hope everything sorts out.

It is a real bummer Becca, I agree that we’re so spoiled. **HUGS**

  7. Ugh, that stinks…but keep your chin up!

    Thanks Larissa!

  8. I’ll come to your pity party…and I will bring balloons! And cake! :)

Things always get better. Always. *HUGS*

Oooh! Cake! :) It does Amber, surprisingly enough. LOL *HUGS*

  9. Just think positive! Haven’t I said that before in your comments? It really works, just try it. It’s hard at first, but thinking positive gets easier.

Thanks Ang! It is hard looking on the bright side of things but it really helped. :) Thanks!

  10. That’s the spirit! Don’t let them get you down, instead look at the bright side of things and enjoy that.

I will come to you pity party and we will talk the whole day, pig out, laugh and cry, craft and cook, watch movies after movies. When it’s all over, we’d forget about the pity part and remember it as something we should do once a month. :D

Oh yes!! Let’s! That would be great! It really sucks that the nicest people I have ever met and have the most in common with live halfway across the world. *le sigh*

Positive thinking helped! It really did!

  11. I get stressed when the power goes out and it rarely goes out here. Maybe once a year? But, I freak out. I cannot imagine! I’m glad you are focusing on the positive; it’s important and it will help you make the most of your days off from work!

It was such a headache after a while!
